This is the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

She lives with her mother in a cottage near the wood. Her Grandmother makes her a red cloak with a hood. She loves it! She always wears it and everyone calls her Little Red Riding Hood. One day Grandmother is ill.
"Take this basket to Grandmother but remember: don't stop in the woodand don't talk to any strangers" says Mother. In the basket there are some buns, a bottle of wine and some cakes. So Little Red Riding Hood leaves with the basket. On the way she sees hunters and woodcutters but she remembers she mustn't talk to strangers. She sings a song and she doesn't see a big, grey wolf. But then she sees him behind a tree. The wolf jumps out in front of her, smiling. " Where are you going, little girl?" he asks. " I'm going to see my Grandmother, who is ill" she says.

The wolf smiles again. " Why don't you pick some flowers for her?" he says. " Good idea, Mr. Wolf" she says. She picks lots of flowers: red, yellow, pink, orange, purple and blue. There are so many flowers...she wants to pick them all! The wolf runs down the path to find Grandmother's cottage. He is very hungry. The wolf finds the cottage. Grandmother is in bed. The wolf knocks on the door. " Who's there?" asks Grandmother. " It's me, Little Red Riding Hood" says the wolf in a tiny voice. " Come in" says Grandmother.

The wolf opens the door, runs in and eats her up in one big gulp. He puts on Granmother's glasses and night cap and goes to bed. He waits for Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood is on her way to the cottage with the basket.

She arrives at the cottage and knocks on the door. " It's me, Grandmother" she says. " Come in , my dear" says the wolf in a squeaky voice.

" Hello, Grandmother!" says Little Red Riding Hood, showing the basket of food and the flowers. " Grandmother" she says " what big eyes you've got!" " All the better to see you with!" says the wolf. " But Grandmother" says the little girl " what big ears you've got!" " All the better to hear you with!" says the wolf. " But Grandmother" she says " what long arms you've got!" " All the better to hug you with" says the wolf. " But Grandmother" says Little Red Riding Hood " what big teeth you've got!" " All the better...to eat you with!" growls the wolf.

The wolf jumps out of the bed and eats Little Red Riding Hood up in one big gulp. Out in the wood a woodcutter hears a scream. He runs in and sees the wolf fast asleep. He kills the wolf with his axe and cuts it open. Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother are still alive.

" Thank you very much!" they say to the woodcutter. Grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood are now safe and they have a delicious supper! So Little Red Riding Hood comes back home. Mother is so happy to see her girl again! " Goodnight, honey!" says closing the window.
